Lovemaking
It was felt that the lovemaking scene between Mary and Peter Holmes near the end of the movie would benefit from some underscore. It is an off-kilter version of the Family Theme and was recorded at a pick-up session in May along with a couple of other odds and ends.

New Finale
Originally the last moments of the film presented Commander Towers return to Moira as her fantasy. The music supported this interpretation by basing the final minutes of the score around the Love Theme. This is the version that appears on the soundtrack album.

When the film was completed it was decided that a different ending was required. By dropping one shot Commander Towers return became reality. A new score was written using the Morte Aeterna Theme and recorded during the pick-up session. This version appears in the film.
